Poinsettia Care

When transporting your poinsettia, make sure your
vehicle is heated. Exposure to low temperatures or chilling winds, even for
a few minutes, can damage the bracts and leaves.

Carefully unwrap your poinsettia.
|
|
|
Because poinsettias are semi-tropical plants, they
will drop their leaves when exposed to sudden temperature changes.
|
|
|
To help make your poinsettia last as long as possible, place it in a
location where it will receive indirect sunlight for at least 6 hours a
day. Do not allow it to touch cold windows and protect it from drafty doors
and heat sources.

|
Check the soil daily and water
only when the soil is dry to the touch. Over watering will cause the leaves
to yellow and drop off. Punch holes in the foil so the water can drain into
a saucer and discard excess water.

|
Do not fertilize your poinsettia until after the blooming season is over.
